To families, friends, staff, and outside support agencies:
For over 30 years, Tower of Port Hope and its staff have trained in current infection prevention and control practices, working diligently every day to protect everyone from the spread of infections and illnesses. Our number one priority is safety.
Tower of Port Hope follows daily updates and awareness regarding COVID-19. Since the morning of March 14, 2020, we have followed our outbreak protocol and have stopped allowing all non-essential visitors into Tower of Port Hope. We have no known cases at this time.
As of June 18, 2020, we are allowing non-essential visitors—only outside the building and by advance arrangement. Please refer to our VISITORS GUIDE for all necessary steps.
In the event of an emergency or medical appointment requiring a resident to exit, we will coordinate this with the resident and their family. Anyone entering the front door will be REQUIRED to pass a screening and will have to pass the same screening when returning. If there are any concerns, the resident may be quarantined for a period of time. For essential personal or care item deliveries, there will be a bin in front of the main entrance. You can place the items inside, and staff will collect them and place them in a secure room where they will stay in quarantine for 3 days before being delivered to your loved one.
Please feel free to share this information with anyone who may be visiting us. The more awareness, the better.
We understand these circumstances create worry and fear about loved ones and their well-being. Feel free to call us at any time. We are offering virtual visits and phone calls to help with the burden of being separated during this situation.
We also have made available the COVID-19 Guide Book for Residents, which outlines the steps we are taking and the information we have been sharing with our residents.
Let’s all fight this together and STAY HOME, FLATTEN THE CURVE! Together we can win!
The Team at Tower of Port Hope
